Union Ridge School, District 86, is hiring full-time Night Custodians.

 

JOB GOAL: Maintain a safe and secure environment, balancing the need to protect students, staff, community, and property with the goal of creating an atmosphere conducive to learning.

 

TERMS OF  EMPLOYMENT: 2:00 pm -10:30 pm Mon-Fri/ $19hr. 

REPORTS TO: Director of Building and Grounds 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

1. Must have High School diploma or equivalent
2. Must have a current and valid Illinois driver’s license
3. Must have a good driving record
4. Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions
5. Able to communicate and understand simple written and oral instructions in English
6. Able to lift up to 50 lb. and transport materials (equipment, supplies, etc.) of that weight  to various sites and throughout the school
7. Able to work off ladders
8. Able to operate equipment properly and safely
9. Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
10. Capable of effectively and safely using hand tools, power tools, and equipment

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Clean and maintain building
2. Perform and assist in ground maintenance
3. Perform custodial functions and duties
4. Perform moving of equipment, materials, furniture, and supplies
5. Report any equipment needing repair to Director of Building and Grounds
6. Promote personal safety, safety procedures, and safe working environment
7. Open and secure buildings for after-hour usage and assist groups when needed
8. Ensure that all doors and windows are secured and designated lights are turned off
9. Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Building and Grounds

 

Terms of Employment:

 

12 month position. Salary and work year established by the Board of Education.

 

Evaluation:

Performance for this job will be evaluated by the Business Manager and the Director of Building and Grounds.
